It’s Christmas Eve. Time to nail that last bug and sent a final ad hoc build to a client before I join you all in family dinners and festivities.
It has been a great year!
In April I finally fully switched from websites to apps and with that from working for a boss to being my own (again). It has been an amazing journey since then. I became Titan – community ambassador – for the Titanium software I use and in that role co-lead the Dutch user group and presented at several conferences. Working from our loft doesn’t feel lonely at all as I have colleagues in every time zone ranging from Australia to San Francisco. I really enjoy these international contacts and the direct connections with Appcelerator staff and many others in the developer community. I’ve learned a lot in the apps I’ve done for several clients and enjoy sharing from that experience. One of the NDA apps I worked at has been downloaded more then 60.000 times in The Netherlands alone!
Expecting even more
Most of the apps I’ve been working on are bigger projects that are on the brink of release for early next year. I’m looking forward to seeing how they are received. This december I’ve initiated TiDev, a independent resource for Titanium developers and I hope to see the site grow in 2014. I’m also working on another big community-project which I hope to launch shortly after the holiday break. Furthermore, 2014 will be the year of Codestrong 3.0 in San Francisco and TiConf EU in Amsterdam. I’m also planning on giving Titanium training courses for which I’ve just been certified as an independent trainer.
I can’t wait to get back to work in January, but first…. Merry Christmas!
